Project Overview
In order to bring special access to life for tennis fans, American Express developed an experience like no other for the 2007 US Open tennis championships.
The Members Court website recreated all the excitement of the event itself, while unlocking a host of dynamic content that couldn’t be found anywhere else. From a live daily highlights show that captured every ace and all the upsets, to a highly original comedic video starring John McEnroe, Members Court unlocked the Open in all new ways for fans, while seamlessly integrating elements of the print and broadcast work.
On-site at the Open itself, Cardmembers got complimentary access to radios that delivered play-by-play commentary, and portable media devices for on-demand viewing of any match at Arthur Ashe stadium. Off the court, organized viewing stations were set up throughout NYC, giving everyone a place to catch the drama of every match, while socializing with fellow viewers.
So no matter where tennis fans happened to be, they could still access exclusive US Open content that delivered on the benefits of Cardmembership. As a result, tens of thousands of people were able to experience the championships like true insiders.
